Desirée

May 21st and 22nd

When the weekend was over, and monday had come crawling the weather and the temperature changed rapidly and suddenly it was like 90 degrees F. I was so happy cause I cannot stand cold weather in the summer, even though I’m from Sweden ;).

We had breakfast all three of us together, Karin and David and I, and then we kind of kicked of the day with our working gloves on. Since Karin and David have so much going on with their companies and businesses I kind of wanted to help out as much as I could while staying with them. As Karin started with the “spring makeover” of their entrance (changing from fall/winter rugs and curtains into more spring/summer-ish styles), I wiped cabinets and counter tops and did the floor in the kitchen.

When we were both done, we went to the post office and to Walmart, the things you do in a small town you know ;).
At Walmart I got the ingredients for dinner since I wanted to make a meal for my amazing hosts! Curry Chicken casserole, kind of. Similar to "Flygande Jakob", with bacon and banana in it. When I go to Walmart I can't just go in and get what I know I need... I want to scan through the whole store basically haha. Well, not if I'm in a rush but if I have plenty of time I like to do that. It doesn't have to end with me buying the whole store though, and especially not this time since I'm traveling and don't have a lot of room in my suitcase hehe.

I made dinner, as planned, and we ended up eating outside on the patio which was really nice. There were no mosquitoes yet and it was still very warm even if it was a bit late, like 9 pm.

Tuesday started out lazy, however after lunch I went with David to drop of the wood chips at their friend's house. They usually put it around trees and plants to make it pretty and to get rid of weeds. Afterwards we went look at a tree that he was going to take down eventually, and then we went to take care of his bees. I got to wear one of those white suits, you know, that bee farmers wear haha. When we got back to the house Karin's sister Ann-Britt had arrived. She'd been on a trip to Kansas City and on her way back she drove by to visit in Blair for a couple of days before taking me with her to Illinois.
